Finally, the Fall Lever has
found its way onto the Ocea Jigger. With the latest shape of the Fall Lever,
anglers can now control the descending speed of their jig with higher
precision.
Shimano has replaced the
rotating knob, found on the side plate of the reels, with a lever drag, that
allows for unprecedented micro adjustments. By controlling the falling speed of
a jig, an angler is actually controlling the action of the jig, creating vibrant
presentations and adopting his style to the “energy” of predators, or the
intensity of underwater currents. © 2022 Tsouros Marine, All Rights Reserved
The Shimano Ocea Jigger F
Custom is a very powerful reel. Its reeling action is smooth and effortless.
Also the reel feels very refined when you are holding it in your hands. This is
because various improvements have been introduced, such as the Long Crank
Handle, Clutch lever and other important details, so now it is more comfortable
to hold. The handle knob has also been re-designed to be lighter and give a
better grip to anglers, so as to facilitate mid-deep games.
Spool Lock allow anglers to
more safely break off snagged lures. It is designed to lock down the spool
so you can break the line when snagged on the bottom. It relieves pressure on
other parts of the reel that could get damaged when trying to break loose.
Shimano is proud of the excellent
drag system installed in the Ocea Jigger F Custom jigging reels. When you have
a fish at the end of the line, the line does not feel like it is under
excessive tension of overloading. Both models are fitted with a waterproof
Carbon Drag for consistent performance in the most extreme situations.
Shimano has developed the F
Custom jigging reels for deep water jigging and built for ultra heavy use, with
a Hagane Body and X-Ship Gearing. The super free spool gives total depth
control, even when jigging in a strong current, and the narrow spool design
makes for easy winding.
The Ocea Jigger F Custom
belongs to the NR category, meaning it incorporates a super narrow profile,
designed for speed jigging. This design brings the angler left hand closer to
the Jigging rod, resulting in better balance between the rod & reel during
speed jigging. This improved balance gives the angler better stability to jig
for longer period of time before fatigue sets in.
Complementing the Fall Lever
are the Infinity Drive and Micromodule Gear II to provide a smooth cranking
experience and result in 60% reduction of the reeling resistance compared to
older models and a very smooth retrieve. The newly modified handle has been
especially designed to provide a firm grip and the ability to give extra power
without losing grip. Shimano recommends size 1500 for mid-deep games and size
2000 for large games.
Due to the 8 Shielded A-RB
ball bearings and X-Protect it is highly salt water resistible and durable.
With a drag of 7, or 10 kg depending on the model, fighting the biggest fish is
not a problem anymore. © 2022 Tsouros Marine, All Rights Reserved
If you are fishing between 70 m
and 120 m the Shimano Ocea Jigger will not allow you to feel the 150 gr jig at
the end of your line. This is based on the condition that you are somehow
vertical with the jig. If you are free-drifting, or better drifting with
sea-anchor and having troubles staying vertical, you may want to increase jig
weight, use lighter line, stay shallower waters, as you will have line slack to
retrieve to move the jig in each pitch. So even if you are fishing at 50 m to
70 m, you may want to use 200 gr, or heavier and the Shimano Ocea Jigger F
Custom will work even better.
So taking all the new features
into account, the Ocea Jigger is just the must-have for all serious anglers who
love to go out jigging on the ocean. When targeting big amberjack or dentex in
Italy or massive cod or halibut in the northern of Norway, the Ocea Jigger is
the partner you can fully rely on, day in day out.
